  Prestigious Awards To Be Celebrated At Casino Marketing Conference  
 

RENO, Nevada (June 12, 2008) – The fifth annual Casino Marketing Conference will honor some of the industry’s most creative marketing individuals and teams when the annual Romero Awards are presented on July 24. The ceremony is one of the highlights of the event, which includes the second Player Development Summit, scheduled together at Paris Las Vegas, July 22-24.

Another highlight is the Casino Marketing Lifetime Achievement Award, which is bestowed upon individuals who have made significant contributions to the gaming industry in the area of marketing. This year’s award is being presented to Ginny Shanks, former Senior Vice President of Brand Management for Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. She was the key linchpin in Harrah’s transition from the original operations and service culture of Bill Harrah to the modern day international gaming company and marketing juggernaut.

“Few people have had more of an impact on casino marketing than Ginny,” said Dennis Conrad, President and Chief Strategist of Raving Consulting Company, co-producer of the conference together with BNP Media. “Her 25-year career with Harrah’s was remarkable in both its longevity and its success, as she wrote the book on how to maximize brand value.”

The Romero Awards are named after casino marketing pioneer and author John Romero, and they honor those gaming operators who best fulfill the spirit of his 45-year crusade for effective, measurable and accountable casino marketing expenditures.

“At a time when marketing is more critical than ever, we have seen a lot of creativity in the current batch of Romero entries,” said Conrad. “It was a very difficult task for the judges to narrow the field to the top awards.”

In its short history, Casino Marketing has become the gaming industry’s premiere marketing conference and trade show, while the Player Development Summit is a newer addition with a specific focus on one of the hottest topics in the gaming industry. Both feature thought-provoking conference sessions and plenty of networking opportunities with a vibrant trade show area.

Three keynote speakers will also be featured. Richard Schuetz will headline the Player Development Summit; he is a candid and sometimes controversial consultant and former Corporate Vice President of Marketing for Lyle Berman’s Grand Casinos. Casino Marketing includes two keynote presentations: Dr. Bill Eadington, Director of the Institute for the Study of Gambling and Commercial Gaming at the University of Nevada, Reno; and Don McMillan, a humorist whose unique background allows him to take a light-hearted look at computers, technology, and the high-tech life.
